
The Greater Mole Rat (Spalax microphthalmus) is a species of rodent in the Spalacidae family. It is found in Russia and Ukraine. Greater Mole Rats eat mainly roots of wild and cultivated plants. At the end of the summer Greater Mole Rats lay vegetables in store for the winter. Sometimes such stores reach up to 15 kilograms of potatoes and beet-root.
