Crazy Google Maps Locations



Useless: Google Maps uses the Mercator projection, so it cannot show areas around the poles. Although Google uses the word satellite, most of the high-resolution imagery is aerial photography taken from airplanes rather than from satellites.




Google Maps uses JavaScript extensively. As the user drags the map, the grid squares are downloaded from the server and inserted into the page
